Playful Placemaking for Urban Inclusivity
Leeds City Council has set itself the ambition to be a Child Friendly City to improve outcomes for children, young people and families across Leeds. Its ‘Leeds Children and Young People’s Plan 2023–2028’ recognises the importance of play, making it one of their priorities. As part of this, Leeds City Council’s Areas of Research Interest for 2024–25 asked “How can we develop inclusive green and play spaces?”.
We have been working with the University of Leeds this year to understand from children how they play in the city centre.
