Low Lane Recreation Ground, Horsforth

The Brief

Horsforth Councillor Emmie Bromley identified “Low Lane Rec” as an underused public space for children and families. Although a playground had been proposed for the space, this unfortunately was chosen to go to a differnt local spot.

Untapped Play Potential

As there are other playgrounds close by Cllr Bromley contacted us to identify new community-led ideas for transforming the space into somewhere more family friendly.

Consultation

Our consultation focused on three playful data collection points, ensuring that nothing was taken away from the play experience.

- Attendees self-reported how often they used the space.

- “The Wish Trees” invited attendees to add their ideas for the space.

- Our staff played and talked with the children and adults about their experiences of the space and their interests.

Thank you so much everyone for such a fantastic engagement with Horsforth families
